Septic Tank Lids

In an effort to help homeowners understand their septic system, we're posting some images of what to look for when digging up a septic tank lid for servicing.

Some of the older style tanks have concrete slab lids of various sizes. The more traditional concrete tanks have a main manhole access lid centrally located between the two smaller inlet and outlet inspection ports. It is the main manhole access that need to be exposed for pumping out the tank. However, it's always good to have all lids exposed to view the different components.

Many home owners are adding tank to surface risers for easier regular maintenance access.
